Per Insurance Law Section 2132, resident producers must complete 15 CE credits each licensing period once the license has been in effect more than two years. The 15 hours must include at least 1 hour of insurance law, at least 1 hour of ethics and professionalism, and at least 1 hour of diversity, inclusion and elimination of bias. Property/casualty licensees must also complete at least 1 hour of flood insurance instruction, and at least 3 hours of enhanced flood instruction if they sell NFIP flood coverage. CE must be completed before submitting the renewal application; excess credits do not carry over and a completed course cannot be repeated. (Requirements effective for licenses renewing on or after April 1, 2022.)
